Design Free Desktop Wallpapers

I have a fetish for desktop wallpapers. I can't stand the same wallpaper for more than a month. But mostly wallpaper providers leave a logo mark on the wallpapers for promotional purposes, and copyright purposes and sometimes the wallpapers are not exactly the same color or style as we want them. I came across three beautiful websites that allow a user to create his/her own wallpaper and download it. Isn't that nice? Below is the list:

1) Alienware - This website allows you to create nebula and space wallpapers with alien characters and wierd signs. Looks cool. Here's my wallpaper:

2) Wallpaper-Maker - This website allows the user to create a wallpaper from a set of backgrounds and toon characters. Looks cute. You will have to register for free. Here's what I made:
3) Myoats - Here you can create some really good fractal designs with great colors, background of your choice and download the HD version of it for your desktop or iPhone. Here's what I created:

Like I said, there are other websites that allow you to create and download wallpapers but at the cost having their logo stamped on to them. Two such websites are X3Studios and WallpaperCreator. X3 Studios is really good if you don't mind the logo. Wallpaper Creator, however, will require you to upload your own picture and make changes to it.

Nothing like a personalized wallpaper. If you are a wallpaper freak like me, go get yours, you'll love it. After creating one, please try uploading it somewhere and share the link, I'd love to see your work. Enjoy!!!

I know exactly what you mean! I love wallpapers too - and they are always a photoshopped image of a picture I took or the original itself - they have to be simple and minimalistic.
I loved the fractal one, even the Tweety one!
Btw, this is NOT a "crap mag"! :)

Your welcome Vyazz, I love space wallpapers too.

Thanks Kokonad, I loved the tweety too but the fractal did'nt exactly come out the way I expected. I mostly prepare my wallpapers from photos but this is the first time I came across websites that allow us to create them online. And about the caption, well I dunno what to say but thanks and I feel nobody's interested in this kinda stuff, so the name.

Wouldn't Photoshop be the best alternative, as in, these websites could never give the flexibility in personalisation to the extent PS would. If PS sounded a lil complex, considering it might have more buttons than rocket science would need, Paint is always an easy solution, yea?
neat find, might have helped quite a lot of readers, but somehow, I always feel the web has to change a lot to tailor personal choices.

I tried something in Myoats. But still getting hang of it. Intersting thing:-)

Also try to do a post on handwriting as font on my computer. There are some paid ones like yourfonts.com but please find something free and illuminate all of us.

Hi Kaddu. Welcome to my blog. I heard about you and also read your post to clear the misunderstanding we were all having. You can use any of the wallpapers above, good that you have asked me before using. Thanks for voting, will check out yours too.

Thanks Sapna :)

Hi Varunsridhar, welcome to my blog. True PS is by far the best and I'm a gr8 fan of it but like you said, not many would find it easy to create a wallpaper. And as for Paint, don't mind me saying it, but its the most horrible tool ever, the pictures just look yuck, and there's not much scope for customization due to the lack of features. I still have to publicize my blog more and am in the process of doing it, any suggestions? And there are a lot many websites providing this kind of info which are more famous than my blog, so can't help :)

@Adesh: You just have to play around for a while. Sure, I'll check to see if there are any free font sites.

Thanks Varunsridhar. I wanted to start a more personal blog on my musings but that'll take some more time. This blog is not only about tech reviews, I write about everything that inspires me to write n share. Thanks for reading. Sure, will check out your blog.

Hiya Varun, I commented on whatever I liked, your blog is really cool. For off-topic comments you can use my GibberBox, commenting there will be more easy too as you would not have to authenticate yourself and I would'nt have to moderate it either.
