Fractal Art

Art created from chaos is called Fractal Art. A calculation made from fractal objects is converted to images to obtain this art-form. A fractal object is an irregular geometric shape. It is created using fractal generators like Fractal Explorer which you can use to render your image. But lately, image editing software like Photoshop are also being used. Fractals have always amazed me. Art created from manipulation and disturbance, WOW!!! can you imagine? This is just another example to show that there are no bounds to human imagination and creativity. The advent of digital technology made everything easier and possible for artists. Fractals are used to create imaginary galaxy, alien worlds, landscapes, ripples, trees, clouds, still-motion images etc., there is actually no limit to this and almost anything seen in a minds-eye can be produced using fractals. Know more about this stunning art-form from coolmath.com. You can also create your own fractal art at FractalPoster. Below is a video by artist Rocco Helmchen, its mind blowing.

I never thought there lies art within the realms of chaos and entropy.
Guess there are indeed no limits to human imagination!!

wow rads.. lovely.. have u tried this?

rads said...

Thanks Preethi :)

rads said...

Yea Vyazz fractals are all about the mathematical formulas and inert uniformity...an art born out of things so geeky and dull is what's stunning

rads said...

Thanks Shweta...yea that picture is my creation in PS...

rads said...

Thanks Aparna...yea I did try it in PS but I don't know how to use fractal tools...yet to figure that out...

I did not know you are good at this also. Oh man! you are an extremely talented lady. Great photograph.

rads said...

Gee thanks Adesh but that picture was nothing anybody can do it with the right brushes, actually you get them free online, you can find them in my post "Photoshop Plugins". Thanks to the creator of these brushes, that person's really talented.

Thanks Sathana but believe me it was nothing, anybody who's just familiar with PS will know its nothing at all.

Ive seen this kind of art before, but I never knew that it was called fractal art.. But one thing is that this art is very captivating.. It has a sense of mystery and mystique in it.. As if there is a story waiting to be told in the painting.. Very informative post.. TFI (thnx for the information :) )

rads said...

Yea Sammy its enigmatic and thats what makes it more intriguing...Thanks :)

the most interesting aspect of fractuals is that any segment of the picture has almost the same characteristic as the rest of the picture.

This is damn pretty and kind of mysterious isnt it?... I gotta check this out dude... It's kind of cute, Thanks so much - I learnt something today :)

rads said...

Yea Rukna the name "Fractals" is derived from that aspect itself. Welcome to my blog :)

rads said...

Yea Sapna it is quite thought provoking.

Hey! I just came across your blog. I did a project on Fractals once when I was in high school, and as a mathie, I definitely find it fascinating! There are also fractal images that can be created from very fixed formula's. We were introduced to fractals by simply looking at a tree- one trunk branches into two, which branches into two, which branches into two again. It's really cool to see these structured fractals in nature! Here's a link I just came across, these pictures are FABULOUS: http://webecoist.com/2008/09/07/17-amazing-examples-of-fractals-in-nature/
